Fish cake with pollock and fried potatoes is a daily dish that is prepared simply, although not as fast as a sandwich. We cook steamed pollock fillet for this recipe, fry potatoes in vegetable oil, so the number of calories will remain at an acceptable level. Cooking fish and potatoes does not take much time, then it remains to collect the ingredients, pour a simple dough (as for fritters) and wait until the oven does its job.
This jellied cake perfectly holds its shape, does not fall apart, is easily cut into portioned pieces. A delicious fish pie prepared according to this recipe can be taken to work for a snack or for a picnic.

Ingredients for fish cake with pollock and fried potatoes
- 500 g fillet of pollock;
- 4 potatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 1 teaspoon of ground paprika;
- cumin and sesame seeds;
- salt, pepper, frying oil, butter.
For the test:
- 2 chicken eggs;
- 120 g sour cream;
- 180 g of wheat flour;
- 5 g of baking powder;
- 15 ml of olive oil;
- kefir, salt, a pinch of soda.
The method of preparation of fish pie with pollock and fried potatoes
Defrost the fish, cut the fillet coarsely. Lubricate the lattice of a double boiler with vegetable oil, cook for 15 minutes for a couple.
Potatoes are cut into large strips. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of refined oil into a well-heated skillet with a thick bottom, put the chopped potatoes.
Fry the potatoes for 15 minutes, add chopped onions into thin rings. Salted ready-made or semi-finished potatoes to taste. It is important that the potato is browned, if a little with raw - it does not matter, it will reach the oven.
Salt cooked pollock fillet, sprinkle with ground sweet paprika.
Making the dough. Mix fresh chicken eggs with a whisk with sour cream, a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of olive oil. Then add the wheat flour and baking powder. Knead the dough, if it turns out to be thick, add a little kefir or cold water.
We leave the finished dough for several minutes, in the meantime, heat the oven to 180 degrees.
Lubricate the non-stick mold with butter and sprinkle with wheat flour. The detachable form is not suitable for this recipe.
Pour half the dough into the mold.
We spread fried potatoes with onions on the dough.
We distribute the fish filling evenly over the potatoes. By the way, canned fish are also suitable for the recipe, preferably natural, without oil.
We fill the fish with the remaining dough, distribute it with a fork over the entire surface so that the filling is completely "hidden" under the dough.
Sprinkle dough on top with cumin and sesame seeds, put on the middle shelf of a fully heated oven (180 degrees Celsius).
We cook a fish pie with pollack and fried potatoes for 40 minutes, immediately remove from the oven, cool in shape, then spread on a board, cut into portions.
Baking time depends on the size of the mold and the characteristics of the plate. This recipe has a rectangular shape of 26x19 centimeters. The finished pie should be well browned, it is firm to the touch.
