Celery cutlets with rice
Everyone knows that various healthy salads can be prepared from root celery - with cabbage, carrots, apples, cucumbers and many more vegetables and fruits. But did you know that celery root is good to add to other dishes, such as cutlets or casseroles? Try to cook celery croquettes with rice - you will see, your home will appreciate! Cutlets with a “mysterious ingredient” turn out to be very tasty, despite the fact that they have no meat at all (which, however, no one will guess right away).
Ingredients for Celery Cutlets with Rice
- 1 medium celery root;
- 0.5 tbsp. rice;
- 1 egg
- Salt, ground black pepper;
- Dill greens, parsley;
- Sunflower oil.
The method of preparation of celery cutlets with rice
Wash and clean the celery root, grate it, coarse or fine.
Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan and sauté the grated celery until soft, stirring with a spoon.
Boil rice until cooked. When the celery and rice cool slightly, mix them, salt and pepper.
Add the egg and chopped dill, knead well and form small balls with your hands dipped in water. Each ball is about a ball for table tennis. Although you can give croquettes and another shape - for example, oblong or flat, like cutlets.
In the middle of each ball you can put a “surprise” - a cube of hard cheese. When frying, it will melt - it will turn out very original and tasty.
We roll each ball in breadcrumbs and put it in a pan with well-heated sunflower oil. You don’t need to pour a lot of oil: as usual, when you fry cutlets.
Fry croquettes from all sides to light brown.
Remove on a plate, serve warm. You can pour sour cream or homemade ketchup.
Celery cutlets with rice are good without a side dish, as an independent dish. Enjoy your meal!
