Growing parsley

A parsley bed begins to be prepared in early spring. At the second digging, 1 bucket of humus, 2 liter cans of river coarse sand, 1 tablespoon of superphosphate are added per 1 m. The soil is dug, leveled and watered.

Parsley seeds germinate very slowly. To accelerate germination, they need to be poured into a glass, pour two tablespoons of warm water and leave for two days. With this preparation, seedlings appear on the 5th-7th day.

Sow seeds on a bed in grooves watered with water at a distance between grooves of 15 cm to a depth of 1 cm.

To obtain root crops, seeds are sown in late April - early May. When the seedlings appear, they are thinned out, leaving between them 2 - 3 cm. Care and feeding are the same as for carrots.

Parsley roots are harvested in September, dried and stored in dry sand.

Some root vegetables are used to produce greenery in the winter.

To obtain parsley seeds, you need to save the root crops, and in the spring, April 25, plant 2 - 3 root crops in the garden. When planting, you need to try to ensure that the upper part of the root crop (on the shoulders) is at the level of the soil. Root crops are planted at a distance of 40 cm from each other. Flowering plants lasts 35 to 46 days. Seeds need to be harvested as they mature. Store seeds in a bag indoors at a temperature of 18 - 20 ° C.
