Description of mock

Chubushnik is a deciduous shrub with a large number of shoots, a superficial root system, 0.8-2 m high. Unpretentious, frost-resistant. The flowers are white or cream with a diameter of 2-5 cm, simple, double or semi-double.

Flowering begins in late May - late July. Blooms in the 3rd year after planting. Some species, such as Chubushnik (garden jasmine) Gordon (Philadelphus gordonianus), can bloom repeatedly in the fall. Jasmine is resistant to pests and diseases, except that aphids can sometimes be affected.

In total, the mock-up has about 65 species. The most interesting for landscaping are hybrid varieties of mock marshmallows. Among the most winter-hardy varieties from central Russia, the most famous are Lemoan moths (Philadelphus Lemoinei).

Growing Chubushnik

Landing

To plant mock-ups, select a sunny place with fertile soil. This plant does not like saline and moist soils. With regular feeding, it will delight you with its decorative effect for many years.

Chubushnik Care

At the beginning of growth, the bush can be fed twice with mullein infusion, and after the end of flowering with mineral fertilizers. Or, before flowering, feed the bush with dry fertilizer - pour a mixture of a glass of wood ash and 2 tablespoons of nitrophoska under it. And during flowering and after - liquid.

Due to the young shoots, the mock-up is constantly rejuvenated. And so that it does not grow arbitrarily, it is necessary to thin it out annually and cut old branches every 2-3 years. Branches are pruned and after the bush fades. Thickened bushes have a bad effect on flowering. Over the summer, 2-3 times the soil around the mock-up is loosened.

Chubushnik breeding

Propellant chubushnik (garden jasmine) is propagated by layering, green cuttings, dividing the bush, root layering. Lignified cuttings are cut in the fall from annual growths. In early spring, they are planted at an angle, leaving only a couple of buds on the surface. The soil is kept moist.

At the end of the year, a root system is formed. And green shoots with 2-3 nodes (internodes should not be long) are cut in spring and summer during the growing season and planted in greenhouses or greenhouses. The leaves of the cuttings after cutting half cut. The lower section is usually made oblique, the upper - above the upper node. The soil is moistened.

For propagation by green layers, annual shoots are used. Seeding is also possible, but it is rarely used. The depth of planting bushes is 50-60 cm, the root neck is deepened to a depth of no more than 2-3 cm, the mock-ups tolerate the transplant well.

The use of mocker in garden design

Most often, garden jasmine is planted as a tapeworm, hedges from it look spectacularly, especially during the flowering period. True, this plant looks great in the neighborhood with other bushes - spirea, Weigel, hydrangea.
